ಠ_ಠ You have requested game support in #lobby.

This is a friendly reminder that #lobby is not connected to a game of any type whatsoever :). We get requests for support in our chitty chatty channel a bit too often and we're a little bit tired of it ;) This page exists to help redirect your queries to the right place!

Here is a list of potentially relevant channels for your queries:

Non-game help for EsperNet IRC

Registering your nickname on EsperNet IRC Network

EsperNet utilizes a service called NickServ, it allows you to register a nickname and keep it for as long as you want (if you don't use it within 30 days it will expire).

Now, some channels require users to be registered before they are allowed to talk. It's a form of quality-control, some channels do not want spammy robots and fly-by visits from trolls so this method of moderation is occasionally implemented.

To register your nickname and activate your nickserv account, follow these instructions TO THE LETTER.

Picking your nickname

  1. FIRST. Make sure you are using the nickname you want to register. Let's assume you aren't using one that is already registered. If you are using a registered nickname that belongs to someone else (you will be told, right there, on your screen) change your nickname using: /nick a-new-nickname.
  2. If you are in a moderated channel, you cannot change your nickname, so part it, e.g: /part #minecraft. Then repeat the previous step.

Registering your nickname

  1. The /msg command sends private messages. You will need to send a private message to NickServ to initiate the registration process. Proceed by entering: /msg nickserv help register
  2. Well done! You have now accessed a help page from the NickServ service!
  3. To register your nickname, have a password and your email address ready. Where you see your-password, put your password in (substitute). Where you see your-email, put in your email address.
  4. Proceed by entering: /msg nickserv register your-password your-email
  5. Hit Enter
  6. You should see something like: Nickname your-nick has been registered to you. An authentication code for your nickname is being sent to your-email
  7. Go check your email!
  8. Do what your email tells you to do! Wait... you did use a REAL email, right? What, no? ಠ_ಠ GTFO.
  9. Successfully sent in your AUTH code? You're done! Next time you log onto IRC you will have to IDENTIFY, this is like, telling NickServ that you really are who you say you are. To IDENTIFY do the following: /msg nickserv IDENTIFY your-password

Thank you for taking the time to read this, we hope you now understand that #lobby is not the appropriate place to ask for game support , but you are welcome to stick around for general banter, after all, this is IRC!
